FAQ

Everything you need to know about .a domains.

What is a .a domain?

A .a domain is your universal Web3 identity on Solana. It's an NFT that represents your digital name, letting you receive payments, verify your identity, and interact with dApps using a human-readable name instead of a wallet address.

How is .a different from .sol and ENS?

.a vs .sol (SNS): .a aims to be a truly universal identity — not just a Solana name service, but a cross-chain identifier backed by AI agents and digital inheritance features. It\'s also priced at 1 USDC/year vs 0.2 SOL/year for .sol.

.a vs ENS (.eth): ENS is Ethereum-only with high gas fees. .a starts on Solana with multi-chain support planned, leveraging Solana\'s low fees for everyday use.

Key differentiator: .a is part of the A Network ecosystem — AI memory, digital inheritance, and cross-chain payments are built into the protocol roadmap.

How much does a .a domain cost?

1 USDC per year (or 0.5 A tokens). Multi-year discounts: 2 years for 18 USDC (10% off), 5 years for 40 USDC (20% off). Registration is a one-time blockchain transaction — you also pay the Solana network gas fee (typically <$0.01).

What happens when my domain expires?

When your domain expires, it enters a 30-day grace period where only you can renew it at the standard price. After 30 days, the name is released and becomes available for anyone to register. We'll attempt to notify you before expiration.

Can I transfer or sell my .a domain?

Yes. Your .a domain is an NFT, so you can transfer it to any Solana wallet, list it on NFT marketplaces, or use it as collateral. Domain ownership is fully yours — we have no ability to revoke or reclaim your domain.

Where can I use my .a domain?

Currently, you can use it for receiving payments via your .a name. We're actively building integrations with wallets, dApps, and browsers. Check our GitHub for the latest integration partners.

Is there protection against name squatting?

Yes. Short names (3-4 characters) have premium pricing to prevent bulk squatting. We also reserve the right to blacklist obviously infringing names (trademarks, impersonation). See our <Link href="/terms" className="text-purple-400 hover:text-purple-300 underline">Terms of Service</Link> for details.

Where is the smart contract?

The DomainRegistry smart contract is deployed on Solana. Source code is available on our GitHub. We recommend waiting for the security audit report (coming soon) before registering high-value names.

Who is behind A Network?

A Network is built by KingBossAI, founded by Jack (潘瑞瑞). We\'re a team of Web3 builders focused on creating practical digital identity and AI agent infrastructure.
